Welcome to ITPEC!

The information Technology Engineers Examination (ITEE) conference sponsored by the Association of Overseas Technical Scholarships (AOTS), with the cooperation of the Japan Information Technolgy Engineers examination Center (JITEC) was held in Yokohama, Japan last November 8 - 11, 2005.

This was attended by delegates from the folowing countries.

  • Japan Information Technology Examination Center (JITEC), Japan,
  • Multimedia Technology Enhancement & Operations Sendirian Berhad (METEOR), Malaysia,
  • Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF), Myanmar
  • Japan-Mongolian Information Technology Association (JMITA), Mongolia
  • The Philippine National Information Technology Standards Foundation (PhilNits), Philippines,
  • National Electronics and Computer Technolgy Center (NECTED) Thailand
  • Vietnam Information Technology Examination and training Support Center (VITEC), Vietnam.

The Four-day conference chaired by PhilNits Foundation President, Ms. Ma. Corazon M. Akol, decided to adopt common standards for the exams, to have common exams and to hold the exams on a common date in the region - the first Sundays of April and October, except for Japan which traditionally conducts the FE exam on the 3rd Sunday of April and October.

In order to oversee the adoption of the common Certification Program in the region, the Information Technology Professionals Examination Council (ITPEC) was formed. For this year, ITPEC shall implement intially the FE certification program, subsequent programs shall be planned by the council.

The logo is generated by rotating a triangle 7 times around its center. The reason to choose triangle is derived from the original idea introduced in ITEE conference: To get success, we need collaboration. 7 is a lucky number and is the number of ITPEC founders. Together 7 triangles forma a wheel, and a wheel always means movement.
